I am going to make a personal plea that we have a safe year at Lake Thunderbird. The lake is reaching a point where it is getting dangerous to be out on the water on holiday weekends....safety is key to any activity! Be safe!

Call For Volunteers

The lake needs you! Lake Thunderbird is one of the least expensive lakes in IL when it comes to users fees..this is due in part to our large volunteer force! So if you aren't in a group or committee at the lake let's go ahead and join at least one group. As the saying goes....many hands make light work!

2009 Lake Thunderbird Calendars

We have put together a 2009 Lake Thunderbird Calendar that we are selling to help raise money for Lake Conservation. The calendar features photos that were all taken in Lake Thunderbird. Estate Planning

Death is not an easy subject to broach, but planning ahead can spare your heirs the struggle of dealing with your assets. You should have at a minium a will....I am a firm believer that even if it is one of those wills that you can do online that is better than nothing...also you should have a power of attornery which gives someone power to make decisions if you become incapacitated. PLEASE take time after you read this and make a will!

3rd Annual Henry Expo

The Henry Chamber of Commerce is hosting the 3rd Annual Henry Expo October 12 from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm held at the Marshal Putnam Fair Grounds, no admission fee. Approximately 100 local businesses, organzations, and food vendors will be present. Mini seminars and activities for the youngsters will make the day an interesting and fun event. See you there.

Coming events....

And now a word from the Webmaster....

What does the Administrator account let you do on a computer?.....most people when they buy a new computer they make themselves an administrator. This is bad computing practice! Where I work at recently a user clicked on a maclious email that install a piece of software the uploaded the usernames and password of ALL the accounts on that user's computer. The problem was the hacker now had the administror account for ALL computers since it was the same across ALL computers and the hackers also got the domain administrator password too! You see when you login on a Windows computer in a network environment you normally login to a domain. What could have prevented this you may ask? Not having the user logged in on their computer as administrator. You see the maclious piece of software would have been unable to install IF the user was logged in as a user and NOT as the administrator.....the nickname of the exploit was "passing the hash".

Until next time.......

See you on the lake!

P.S.
