I am going to make a personal plea that we have a safe year at Lake Thunderbird. The lake is reaching a point where it is getting dangerous to be out on the water on holiday weekends....safety is key to any activity! Be safe!

Call For Volunteers

The lake needs you! Lake Thunderbird is one of the least expensive lakes in IL when it comes to users fees..this is due in part to our large volunteer force! So if you aren't in a group or committee at the lake let's go ahead and join at least one group. As the saying goes....many hands make light work!

Henry Methodist Church

Calling all church going folks! We have come across a 4PM service in Henry that is on the 2nd and 3rd Saturdays @ 4PM. The name of the church is Henry Methodist Church and they are located down the road from the AG VIEW auto shop in Henry. Pastor Peg will be trying out this time slot so hopefully folks will show up!

Economy

To me it seems as if the economy is still in the crapper. I have friends that are still looking for jobs that have graduated this year. Today the only place that one can find good jobs are in health care and technology. So if I could turn back the clock I would go into or try to focus in on home health care. In the next ten to twenty years I think we are going to see a big up tick in these fields.

Clear-Cutting

The Lake Thunderbird Board of Directors has changed their stance on clear-cutting. The clear-cutting ban has been lifted! You are now allowed to perform clear-cutting, but please consider your neighbors!

At work I was trying to burn some DVDs so that we could distribute the media to our customers. My office mate and I had a heck of time trying to burn 10.6 or Mac Snow Lepoard. We found that even at the slowest speed the disc would fail. We dug deeper and found that there is a burner cache that had to be bumped up to 8.5 GBs since we were using dual layered DVD media and the burn speed was dropped it to 1x then and only then did the DVDs burn sucessfully.
